PHANTOMS PREPARE TO ENTER SECOND HALF OF SEASON

The West Michigan Phantoms will begin the second half of the Winter 2019 on January 5th and will be positioned into Division 2 for the half.  The Phantoms completed the first half of the season with a 4-6-2 record and in 9th place.  Following the end of the first half of the season, the top six teams (Gun Ru, Johnny Puck, Grifters, Shots, Beer League Benders, Bent Shafts) were placed into Division 1 and will compete with each other for the balance of the season.  The bottom six teams (Chiefs, Agape, Phantoms, Team English, PuckNuts, Merchant Automotive) were placed into Division 2 and will compete against each other for the balance of the season.  During the first half of the season, the Phantoms tallied 56 goals and witnessed 53 goals against.  The Phantoms captured victories against Agape, Bent Shafts, Merchant Auto and Shots.  Despite the record, the Phantoms were very competitive in all games played and had to use a little 'help' during the final game against the PuckNuts to position themselves for the second half.  

PHANTOMS IN KALAMAZOO: BLACK VS. GRAY GAME; Feb. 8

The West Michigan Phantoms and Kalamazoo Wings of the East Coast Hockey League have announced the the historic Wings Stadium will play host to the next 'Black vs. Gray' game.  After working for months to secure the date and time, we are happy to announce that Saturday, February 8th from 3:00pm-4:00pm will be the two-hour skate of the Phantoms at Wings Stadium.  Additionally, following the Black vs. Gray game, the Phantoms will sit back and watch as the KWings play host to Alex Brooks and the Indy Fuel at 7:00pm.  Cost will be $15 per player for the Black vs. Gray game (if getting KWings tickets; otherwrise $30 for just skate) and then $13 for each Adult ticket to the KWings game that night ($9 for Children ages 2-12).  All money is due to Woot no later than January 19th.  "These specialty games that we as the Phantoms have done over the years that created some of the best memories for our teammates over the past 17+ years of the team," Wootton said.  "To bring our Phantoms to the historic venue of Wings Stadium where many spent time watching the great battles of the Muskegon Fury/Lumberjacks against Kalamazoo is something that is very special," Wootton added.  To add further build-up for the game, is the fact that the KWings will be battling a player that many played against years ago in West Michigan, Alex Brooks.  Brooks, a defensemen for the Indy Fuel, skated against the Phantoms during the Cedar Rock Sports Plex days and at Rivertown Sports against the Phantoms.  This event will be another great weekend of friends, hockey and beer.  The Black vs. Gray skate is limited to 24 skaters and two goaltenders.  To Sign up, please click the following link and complete the registration process.   Click HERE to register.  CURRENTLY SIGNED UP:

GROUP TRIP: HAWKS@WINGS; FRI., MARCH 6TH

Group Trips have become the norm for the Phantoms for the past couple of years.  On Friday, March 6th, the next group trip will take place at Little Caesars Arena as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Detroit Red Wings.  The Phantoms have 26 tickets in the gondola and are looking to fill the trip.  Cost is $75 per person and all money is due to Woot no later than February 7th.  CURRENTLY SIGNED UP: Nate Skoboda (2), Kevin Wootton (1), Trent Kik (1), Matt Zehr (2), Ashley Owen (2), Brad Zehr (2), Kyle Clark (2), Jake Blok (1), Amada-Madie-Ashley (3), Chris Laux (1), Jim Mylenek (2), Michelle Evans (1), Andrew Zawacki (2), Nick Oostra (1) and (Zack Kinney-2-Held).  At this present time...we have 1 ticket remaining.
