BRENDAN BENDER RETURNS TO THE PHANTOMS ROSTER

The West Michigan Phantoms are excited to announce the return of Brendan Bender to the team effective immediately. Bender, who departed the Phantoms in 2018 to move to Canada, returns after spending the last several years in Sarnia, Ontario.  Bender was the 'old-guy' on the Micor Sports League's Seal team during his stay in the Maple Leaf country, but has not seen action since March 10, 2020 when the province of Ontario shut-down recreational leagues as a result of the Covid pandemic.  As a member of the Seals, Bender was a stand-out defensemen who played in 17 of the team's 20 regular season games during the 2020 season and amassed 1 goal and 6 assists while on the blueline.  Bender goes from the 'old-guy' on the Seals, to one of the younger members of the Phantoms on his return.  Bender's arrival back with the Black and Yellow helps secure a more consistent roster for the Phantoms and adds a solid defensemen on the backend.  During his first stint with the Phantoms, Bender recorded an all-time production of 15 goals, 12 assists and 74 penalty minutes.

PHANTOMFEST RETURNS SATURDAY, JULY 24TH

Having had to cancel PhantomFest last year due to Covid19, we are excited to announce that the annual party will return in 2021.  This year, we are shifting to a private location to ensure State guidelines and restrictions do not cancel the event this year.  While we will provide more information in the coming months, we can announce that the event will be held at Ian/Michelle's house near Grand Haven and that we do have a band lined up as well as a DJ with karaoke.  The location is large enough with plenty of room for this party and the house is large enough for everyone to stay the night if needed.  Be sure to circle Saturday, July 24th on your calendar and prepare for PhantomFest 2021 from Grand Haven!
