Zombies drop defensive game 1-3

The Zombies battled hard on Wednesday night but came up short in a 3-1 loss to Just One More at Walker Ice & Fitness Center. Despite skating with a shortened lineup that was missing Trent Kik, Steve Downing, Mike Bowman, and Kevin Wootton, the Zombies stayed within striking distance throughout the evening before an early third-period goal proved to be the difference.

Just One More opened the scoring midway through the first period before the Zombies answered late in the frame. Jason Buechler buried the equalizer with 1:25 remaining after taking a setup from Tavi Rosu and Moon Jeon, sending the teams into the first intermission tied at 1-1.

Momentum shifted back to Just One More in the closing seconds of the opening period when Matt Glowacki restored the lead with only 26 seconds remaining. The second period featured strong defensive play from both clubs, with neither side finding the back of the net despite several quality scoring opportunities.

The Zombies continued to push in the third period, but Just One More capitalized early with an unassisted insurance goal by Darrian Orr. Although the Zombies generated pressure late, they were unable to solve the opposing goaltender again and dropped the contest by a 3-1 final.
