DEFENSE HAS A NEMESIS! PHANTOMS RE-SIGN TWO-WAY STANDOUT NATALIE NEMES!
Former Merrimack Warrior Returns After a Steady, Penalty-Free Inaugural Season
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — She can defend the blue line, move into the middle and contribute to the attack—and after an impressive first season in West Michigan, Natalie Nemes is coming back for more!
The West Michigan Phantoms have officially re-signed two-way player Natalie Nemes for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 season.
Nemes recorded three assists and three points during her inaugural Phantoms campaign while completing the season with zero penalty minutes. Her immediate defensive reliability and ability to contribute offensively made her a valuable addition to the West Michigan lineup.
No unnecessary penalties.
No wasted movement.
No easy trip through the defensive zone for the opposition!
A native of Kingston, Massachusetts, Nemes arrived in West Michigan with extensive NCAA experience from Merrimack College. The 5-foot-6 right-handed shooter is listed as both a center and defenseman, providing the positional versatility required to contribute throughout the lineup. Elite Prospects lists her complete player profile.
During her time with the Merrimack Warriors, Nemes became known for responsible defensive play and a willingness to block shots. She also earned five Hockey East All-Academic honors, demonstrating that her performance extended well beyond the rink. Merrimack recognized her among the conference’s five-time academic honorees.
That collegiate foundation translated smoothly to the Phantoms. Nemes supplied calm defensive work, intelligent puck movement and three assists without taking a single penalty during her first season.
Need help protecting the defensive zone? Nemes is ready.
Need someone to move the puck through traffic? She can handle it.
Need a two-way player capable of shifting between center and defense? No. 6 gives the Phantoms exactly that option.
Her return gives West Michigan a dependable and versatile player as the organization prepares for Season 62. After establishing herself during her inaugural campaign, Nemes now has an opportunity to build upon that foundation and continue making her mark in a Phantoms sweater.
The first season introduced her.
The second season could unleash her.
And opposing offenses are about to meet their Nemesis once again!
WELCOME BACK, NATALIE NEMES!
FEAR THE EYES!
