THE HUNT CONTINUES! CO-CAPTAIN TUGGLE RETURNS TO LINE ONE!
Phantoms Re-Sign 171-Point Forward Hunter Tuggle for Fall/Winter 2026–27
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Line One has regained another major piece, the leadership group remains intact and the hunt for another successful Phantoms season continues!
The West Michigan Phantoms have officially re-signed forward and co-captain Hunter Tuggle for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 campaign.
Tuggle delivered another productive performance last season, recording seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points without collecting a single penalty minute. That campaign increased his Phantoms career totals to 84 goals, 87 assists and 171 points, accompanied by only four penalty minutes.
Those remarkably balanced totals demonstrate everything Tuggle brings to the West Michigan attack. He can finish a scoring opportunity himself, distribute the puck to his linemates and remain involved without making unnecessary visits to the penalty box.
Tuggle is a central member of the Phantoms’ famous “Line One,” where his offensive awareness and playmaking ability help drive one of the team’s most recognized units. His 17-point season provided another example of the dependable production West Michigan has come to expect whenever Line One takes the ice.
His role extends well beyond the scoresheet. As a longtime co-captain, Tuggle helps provide leadership, stability and accountability throughout the Phantoms locker room. He understands the team’s expectations, its personalities and the history behind the sweater.
Before joining the Phantoms, Tuggle played two seasons of prep hockey with Culver Military Academy, appearing in 76 games. He later recorded three goals and two assists in only three games with the Pikes Peak Miner
Tuggle also became a member of the Lakeside Locomotives before establishing himself with the Phantoms. Like fellow Line One forward Trevor Zenas, his Locomotives background makes the current nickname especially fitting: the former Locomotive now helps keep the Line One Express operating at full speed.
With 84 goals and 87 assists, Tuggle enters the new season only 16 goals away from 100 and 13 assists away from reaching the same milestone. He also needs 29 points to join the Phantoms’ 200-point club.
His career total of only four penalty minutes may be equally impressive. Tuggle has accumulated 171 points while spending less time in the penalty box than some players manage during a single difficult evening.
The return of Tuggle gives West Michigan another established offensive contributor, retains an important member of the leadership group and keeps a central piece of Line One in place for Season 62.
The co-captain is back, Line One is loading and Hunter Tuggle is ready to continue the pursuit!
WELCOME BACK, HUNTER TUGGLE!
ALL ABOARD LINE ONE!
