FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WALKER, MI – As the United States prepares to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Independence, the West Michigan Phantoms Hockey organization is proud to announce the release of two patriotic music videos, “USA! USA!” and “God Bless The USA,” honoring the nation, its freedoms, and the generations of Americans who have defended them.
The videos feature Phantoms mascots Zam (#02) and Skates (#00) standing among some of America’s most iconic landmarks while celebrating the spirit of patriotism, unity, and pride that has defined the United States since 1776. Combining hockey culture with powerful American imagery, the productions serve as a tribute to the nation’s historic Semiquincentennial celebration.
“America’s 250th birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone,” said Kevin Wootton, General Manager of the West Michigan Phantoms Hockey Club. “As an organization built on teamwork, community, and tradition, we wanted to create something that celebrates the freedoms we enjoy every day. Without the sacrifices made by countless Americans throughout our nation’s history, our ability to enjoy sports, recreation, and the game we love would not be possible.”
The Phantoms are encouraging players, alumni, fans, friends, and supporters to share the videos throughout social media as Independence Day approaches.
“We hope our fans crank these songs up wherever they’re celebrating this Fourth of July,” Wootton added. “Whether you’re on a boat, riding around in a golf cart, hosting a backyard barbecue, spending time at the lake, or gathering with family and friends, we encourage everyone to share the music, post the videos, and celebrate what it means to be an American.”
The organization also wanted the project to serve as a salute to those who have worn the nation’s uniform.
“The West Michigan Phantoms proudly salute the current and former members of our organization, along with the countless members of our extended hockey network, who have answered the call to defend our country,” said Phantoms Captain Trent Kik. “Their service and sacrifice have helped preserve the freedoms we often take for granted. As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we remember that our ability to gather with teammates, friends, and family, enjoy the game of hockey, and live our daily lives in freedom is possible because of those who were willing to serve something greater than themselves. We are forever grateful for their commitment to our nation.”
The release continues the Phantoms’ tradition of producing unique multimedia content that connects hockey with community pride and national celebrations. From fireworks-filled skies above the nation’s capital to scenes featuring Mount Rushmore and the American flag, both productions pay tribute to the enduring spirit of America and the people who have shaped its history.
The videos are dedicated to:
Active-duty military personnel
Veterans of the United States Armed Forces
First responders
Gold Star families
The generations of Americans who have served and sacrificed in defense of freedom
As the nation prepares to celebrate 250 years of Independence, the West Michigan Phantoms encourage fans across West Michigan and beyond to take pride in their communities, support one another, and reflect on the values of freedom, perseverance, and unity that have guided the United States for two and a half centuries.
The “USA! USA!” and “God Bless The USA” videos are now available on the West Michigan Phantoms Hockey YouTube channel.
