Former Lakeside Locomotive Returns Following a 12-Goal, 20-Point Season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The engine is roaring, the scoring line is loaded and the Line One Express has been cleared for another trip through West Michigan hockey!

The West Michigan Phantoms have officially re-signed forward Trevor Zenas for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 season.

Zenas delivered one of the strongest offensive performances of his Phantoms career last season, scoring 12 goals and adding eight assists for 20 points while collecting only two penalty minutes. That productive campaign increased his career totals to 28 goals, 34 assists and 62 points, accompanied by only eight penalty minutes.

Twenty points, 12 goals and only two penalty minutes represented high-speed production without spending much time parked at the penalty-box station.

Zenas has become a key member of the Phantoms’ famous “Line One,” providing the unit with size, skill and the ability to finish scoring opportunities. When Line One begins moving the puck, creating space and building speed through the neutral zone, opposing defenses know precisely what is coming and still have trouble stopping it.

Before boarding the Phantoms’ Line One Express, Zenas was a member of the Lakeside Locomotives, making his current role almost too perfect. He was once a Locomotive, now helps power Line One and continues moving forward throughout his West Michigan hockey journey.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed forward from Spring Lake brought an accomplished résumé into West Michigan adult hockey. Zenas played in the North American Hockey League with the Odessa Jackalopes and Lone Star Brahmas, appearing in 99 regular-season games. He was also a member of Lone Star’s 2017 Robertson Cup championship team.

Zenas later played two seasons of ACHA Division II hockey at Grand Valley State University, producing 17 goals, 12 assists and 29 points in 34 regular-season games.

That experience has translated directly to the Phantoms, where Zenas has shown that he can score, distribute the puck and skate effectively with skilled linemates. With only eight career penalty minutes, he also rarely allows the Line One Express to become delayed by an unnecessary stop in the penalty box.

His 20-point performance last season carried him beyond the 50-point milestone. He now begins the new campaign only two goals away from reaching 30 and eight points away from 70 for his Phantoms career.

The return of Zenas gives West Michigan another established scorer as the organization prepares for Season 62. It also keeps an important piece of Line One together for another run through the schedule.

The former Locomotive is fueled, the Line One engine is running and Trevor Zenas is ready to deliver another express shipment of goals!

WELCOME BACK, TREVOR ZENAS!

ALL ABOARD LINE ONE!
