Gong Show Legend and 327-Point Veteran Returns for Season 62
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — From the Grandville Bulldogs to Gong Show Hockey and all the way into the upper reaches of the Phantoms’ record book, Nate Skoboda’s hockey journey is not finished yet!
The West Michigan Phantoms have officially re-signed veteran forward Nate Skoboda for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 season.
Skoboda recorded one assist during limited action last season while finishing with zero penalty minutes. That contribution raised his impressive Phantoms career totals to 170 goals, 157 assists and 327 points, accompanied by only 44 penalty minutes.
Limited action may have slowed the numbers for one season—but it did nothing to erase one of the most productive résumés in Phantoms history.
Before becoming a Phantom, Skoboda developed his game while playing varsity high school hockey for the Grandville Bulldogs. After high school, he moved into the inline game with Gong Show, continuing to sharpen the offensive instincts that would eventually make him a major scoring threat for West Michigan.
The Bulldog supplied the bite.

The Phantoms received the finished product!
Wearing No. 44, Skoboda has consistently demonstrated the ability to both score and create. His nearly balanced totals of 170 goals and 157 assists show a forward capable of finishing opportunities himself or setting up a teammate.
Skoboda now enters the new season only three points away from reaching 330 for his Phantoms career and three assists away from No. 160.

His return provides the Phantoms with another accomplished veteran as the organization prepares for Season 62. After appearing only sparingly last season, the upcoming campaign gives Skoboda an opportunity to return to the lineup and resume adding to a career built on goals, assists and remarkably disciplined hockey.
