No. 26 Returns to Deliver More Goals, Close Shaves and Clean Work Around the Net
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The pole is spinning, the blades are sharp and the West Michigan Phantoms’ Barber Shop is officially open for another season!
The Phantoms have re-signed veteran forward Ryker Barber for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 campaign.
Barber continued cutting through opposing defenses last season, recording seven goals and five assists for 12 points. He accomplished it all without collecting a single penalty minute, raising his Phantoms career totals to 107 goals, 39 assists and 146 points, with only six penalty minutes.
That is not merely a scoring touch. That is precision work from a proven finisher!
A 6-foot, 205-pound right-handed shooter from Allendale, Michigan, Barber brought an impressive hockey background with him to the Phantoms. He played junior hockey in the NA3HL with the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, Pittsburgh Vengeance and St. Louis Jr. Blues, producing 23 goals and 35 points across 87 regular-season games.
Barber later returned to West Michigan and played ACHA Division II hockey at Grand Valley State University, recording eight goals, five assists and 13 points in 23 games. His complete junior and collegiate history is available through Elite Prospects.
Since joining the Phantoms, Barber has developed into one of the team’s most dependable goal scorers. Of his 146 career points, 107 have come from goals—a résumé that leaves no mystery about his preferred method of operation.

He can finish from the scoring areas, capitalize on defensive mistakes and make opposing goaltenders feel as though they have just received a much closer shave than they requested.
Despite playing an aggressive offensive game, Barber has accumulated only six penalty minutes during his entire Phantoms career. He scores goals, stays out of the box and handles his business without leaving a mess on the floor.

His return gives the Phantoms another established scoring threat as the organization prepares for Season 62. With 107 goals already secured, Barber now needs only four points to reach 150 for his Phantoms career.
