For so many years, the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan is where many Phantoms grew up watching the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Muskegon Fury, as well as playing for the Muskegon Chiefs. On Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, members and friends of the West Michigan Phantoms skated in a scrimmage at the L.C. Walker Arena. In an event that was highly received by the players, 26 individuals skated against each other in a Phantom Black vs. Phantom Yellow game during the afternoon before joining each other in a group of 54 to watch the United States Hockey League's Muskegon Lumberjacks take on the Dubuque Fighting Saints. "To be able to play in the arena that I spent so many days with my dad watching hockey was very special, to bring the Phantoms to the same rink and play a game against each other was even a perfect touch,"said Phantom goaltender Kevin Wootton. The group was split into a Black Team and a Yellow Team via a player draft earlier in the week to help keep both sides balanced and it worked, as the competitive game played itself out with Black defeating Yellow 4-2. 'Team Yellow' received goals from Mike Padget and Chris Laux, while 'Team Black' received goals from Matt Myers, Wes Harmon and a pair from Matt Sobczak. A commemorative medallion was handed out to every player, referee, photographer after the game which featured a neck ribbon in Black and Yellow representing the colors of the Phantoms, a front entrance graphic of the Walker Arena, the Phantom Hockey logo and the date of 'March 3, 2018.'
