Zombies Post-Game:

POSTGAME: Zombies Rally Late for 4-3 Win

The Zombies flipped the script Friday night, using a strong third-period surge to take down Just One More, 4-3.

After trading chances early, the Zombies got on the board first with Joe Ruemenapp finishing a play from Trent Kik just 2:55 into the game. Ruemenapp was a difference-maker all night, finishing with 1 goal and 1 assist.

The game stayed tight through two periods. A second-period tally from #55 Ryan Kooima-again set up by Kik—kept the Zombies within striking distance heading into the third.

Then came the push.

Down 3-2, the Zombies took over late in the third. Joe Lochinski buried the equalizer off a feed from Ruemenapp and Kik, and moments later #1 delivered the game-winner unassisted to seal it.

Leading the charge was Trent Kik, who quietly dominated the game with three assists, factoring into three of the four goals and driving the offense throughout.

Defensively, the Zombies tightened up when it mattered most, shutting the door in the third after giving up three goals through two periods. Discipline was mostly clean, with the lone penalty coming from Chris DeBoer in the first.

Final: Zombies 4, Just One More 3

Key Performers:

  • Trent Kik — 3 assists

  • Joe Ruemenapp — 1G, 1A

  • Joe Lochinski — Game-tying goal

  • #1 — Game-winning goal

A resilient win and a clear sign: when the Zombies get rolling offensively, they’re tough to stop.
