JLA DEC. 3, '16

For many it was a childhood dream, for others it was chance of a lifetime. On Saturday, December 3, 2016, members and friends of the West Michigan Phantoms and West Michigan Gong Show skated in a scrimmage at Joe Louis Arena for One Last Skate at the famous arena. In an event that was highly received by the players, 30 individuals skated against each other in a Phantom Black vs. Gong Show White game in the final months before the ice melted once last time. The event was months in the making and the Phantoms and Gong Show lived up to the billing as both teams displayed a highly competitive game in which the Phantom's edged Gong Show 6-4. The group was split into a Phantom Black Team and a Gong Show White Team via a player draft a couple of weeks before the game to help keep both sides balanced.
